Anxiety is the anticipation of a solution to a problem previously ignored or invisible, magickal self-defense is a training for the acceptance of harmful spiritual actions in our volition and our vicinity. McLuhan stated that it is no longer possible to operate with the detached claritas of the western literate (wo)man. I say it again, though the body count grows daily, and the news confuses and looks away, and it causes such panic to be open to an awareness of the state of the so-called "first" world or "free" world, the end that is nigh will be ours to decide. Will it be an end to denial, hypocrisy, and misperception? Sure hope so. Will it be the end of privilege, power and pain? Unlikely. But let's level up the struggle, owing so much to those we remember who blazed a path and illuminated our understanding of justice and democracy, civil rights and human liberties, and owing so much to those lost to time's shadows, their voices carried in forms and traditions across generations, past cultures, from one struggle to another, in the name of freedom, change, and peace. Let us see the world around us, shining and bloodstained. Let us hear the sound of our own feet rushing out of the subway stations, of our hands lifting cutlery and setting down glasses. Look around at the beautiful, hard-working and long suffering people in the city that we share, you can find them nearly everywhere. Let us be ambitious but also honour those connections that are more solvent than cash and coin, fame and fanhood, universal sacraments of food, libation, and ablutions. Be with the localised social tribes, constructs, and intersections of the people that surround you throughout your day. When this is uncomfortable, try asking 'is it you or I?' and Why? Breathe. Dance your body step by precious delicate delicious dangerous daring desperate and daemonic step through the day's choreography, fueling it on the earth's treasures we've painstakingly bioengineered over centuries to feed us. Remember that all Roman gods have a Greek counterpart, and culture. Remember that all the pagan gods of Europe were defiled and contorted to suit the colonial monoculture, monotheism. Remember. The saints and their cults, the witches and warlocks that once healed the people and drew star maps and moved rocks. Remember, and forgive as if nothing was lost. Only time, and a billion lives was the cost. Just the frosting caked in mistakes, suckled warriors and scattered brains, neophytes and neologism, schisms of the one true church, the tragic flaw inbred of sex, an historical arrangement of forms and shame, blame, guilt, the concept of fault, a scapegoat, a ritual locus to sacrifice, men in temple dresses, holy prostitutes. Remember cuz reality is a truth narrative wider than words can tell. And vision is a capacity surer than sight could say, wait a minute has the world ended? Wasn't I supposed to die or bury a world seed or something? Remember, dream, understand that these things are always happened before, their terror is their certainty. And unerring regularity. Speak words of power, like

Here we go round the bend again, clowns a-Fording for the utmost control of "their" situations, aspiring, desiring, and rolling dice with hundreds of thousands of other lives to publically live out their neuroses and to project grief and strife on a massive scale. It is a world of madness, but it is not the end yet. Turn your kind eyes on madness, and get the sick care. In places of power, sickness spreads fast, insecurities and Roman infections bred into the very fabric of our hierarchical robes and tropes. No jokes. Power corrupts, a post colonial concept. Power breeds responsibility and trust, a new archetype, oh really, just one, nothing new under the sun. There was a time before terror, and business, and fear, and conflict, destruction, please do remember my dear.
